Snow Day

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

It’s been snowing here almost continuously since yesterday afternoon. According to the news, this is the heaviest snowfall here for 18 years, with up to 6 inches worth in some places. All London bus services have been cancelled, and my local trains aren’t running either. As I can’t get to work I’m going to hang out at home, though I may take a walk down the road later.

Below are some pics I took this morning, I’m tempted to make a snowman in the back garden – haven’t done anything like that since my childhood. It’s funny though – you know you’re getting old when snow is more of a nuisance than a pleasure. Usually a bit of snow is a bit annoying for me (having to trundle to work isn’t so much fun), but when there’s so much of it that you can’t go to work then you just have to roll it with it…

Love the photos. I’d read about your snowfall and wished you could have all the snow here and leave us high and dry!

Great shots! The snow is absolutely beautiful (she says from her hot haven in the tropics).
