13 ways to spend a day off without leaving the house

Thursday, January 11th, 2007

1. Random internet surfing (blogs, news sites, etc) or chatting with MSN buddies

2. Television (cable/satellite telly is made for time-wasting). I personally like the Comedy Channel or LivingTV for lively junk TV.

3. In bed. With or without company.

4. Daydreaming/fantasizing (about a hot new lover, a career in the secret service, Daniel Craig’s bod, kicking vampire butt, etc.)

5. Playing solitaire (with or without a computer)

6. Chatting to friends who are also bumming around during office hours.

7. Snacking

8. Re-watching favourite DVDs or re-reading favourite books/magazines

9. Baking sweet stuff for yourself. Flapjacks anyone?

10. Chilling out to your favourite tunes.

11. Dancing (to your fave songs while doing no. 10 or to your inner beat if preferred)

12. Meditation/spirtual development

13. Blogging. Of course.

The purpose of the meme is to get to know everyone who participates a little bit better every Thursday. Visiting fellow Thirteeners is encouraged! I will link to everyone who participates and leaves a link to their 13 things.

Great list! I could do all of these things. Yes, I am married, but fun to think about a few!

    Mmmm. Bed.

But you forgot one — writing! I couldn’t imagine having a day off and not writing (weird, I know).

    Happy TT!

Very good ideas, what suit me too !

I laughed when I saw your name “PJ” because this is the official abbreviation for “Police Judiciaire” which means something like crime police !

It’s amazing how much you can do without leaving the house. Enjoy every moment of it!!

I’m guilty of # 11, I do enjoy dancing around the house, well that is if you call what I do dancing.

Great list. I just spent 2 weeks off work because I was sick. I could have done with this list then. Although watching DVD’s in bed would have been all I could have managed

After yesterday’s blizzard I’d love to be able to stay cozy in my little house and do nothing. Unfortunately, blizzards aren’t enough to get me out of work - I can work from home. I’ll definitely daydream about all the books I could be reading instead of working though.

Thanks for dropping by my TT - and yes, feel free to advertise my exercise pledge anywhere you want.

Hey all, thanks for checking out my Thurs-13.

Gattina: maybe I am the Police Judiciaire! Or I could be - watch out all you criminals, I’m on the case!

Susan Helene and Nienke: I didn’t mention writing or the reading of unread books in this because I class them as things that I should be doing. I guess an alternative name for this list could be “13 things I do on my day off when I should be writing/studying/doing housework”

I hope that the ladies with family responsibilies can find a few minutes to indulge themselves in some of these frivolous activities.

I recognize quite a few of these as things I do. A little too much snacking and surfing and not enough meditation is my problem

    Happy TT
