I...The Fight of Your Life
Thursday, January 1st, 2009I love this new advert by Volkswagen, The Fight, which is like a James Bond fight sequence. The concept, the music, and its entire execution just blew me away.
The voiceover at the end tells us: “Sometimes the only one you have to beat is yourself.” It’s so true, sometimes you can’t compare yourself or your work against someone or something else, you can only try to improve upon your own performance.
You can only seek to achieve your personal best. That’s what I intend to do in 2009, to work on improving my life (health, career, romance/fun) without feeling bad for not being like everyone else I know.

Nice to see Volkswagen being imaginative again – there’s a distinctly Irish advert they used a few months ago that went down well here.
I haven’t made any resolutions for 2009 – there’s a number of things I want to achieve or improve, but I’m not carving anything in stone ‘cos I find that that’s more likely to stop me than push me. So we’ll see how the year unfolds…
