How much do you eat?
Monday, October 15th, 2007As it’s still Blog Action Day, I thought I’d give you some more food for thought.
Check out this post to compare the amount of money that families spend on food around the world.
My family spends about £90/US$180 a week on food, which isn’t much compared to the families in Germany or Japan. Interestingly, there is a quite a difference between the two families in the USA. As you go down the food chain you’ll notice that there’s less processed food and more of the basic staples.
Germany: $500/wk
Sudanese refugees in Chad: $1.23

I took a look at that link and was left gasping at most of those images. How can people possibly eat so much food!?! Where on earth do they put it? Do they have hollow legs?

It’s kind of bizarre really, some of the smaller families (4 people) were eating more than the larger families (6+ people) in certain pics. But there were no overweight people in the pics…
