My favourite quiz result to date
Saturday, June 13th, 2009Aeolian Mode. Or just plain old Minor. All the “white keys” starting on A, and you’ve got a minor scale.
You have a dark sense of humor. You like to keep to yourself, finding social interaction rather difficult and draining, perhaps even boring. Sometimes you feel like life is a real drag, and question why you even bother. How depressing, dude. In truth, the thing that keeps you going is the vague notion and hope in a little thing called Love. You are a hopeless romantic. You often stare out the window and daydream, most likely about that special someone that you wish you were good enough for. Yes, love really does make the world go round, and it’s not all rainbows and sunny meadows. That’s not real love. Love is a brutal, gut-wrenching affair. You probably have some sort of creative talent, which is good. If you didn’t have an outlet for all your emotions you’d probably lose your mind.
I was hoping to be dorian mode for some reason, but this is quite fitting too.

You can be dorian if you like - you just need to go
“la-la-la-la-la…”
from time to time…
Almost works for me.

Actually, I kind of expected my result to be Aeolian as well…
‘La-la-la-la-la…” doesn’t really help if you happen to be (like me) tone-deaf…

Yeah, an mp3 would probably be easier. What was your result then? I think I was thinking about the jazz connection with dorian, aeolian is a bit conventional, but it does its job.

As you’ll have seen, Dorian.
I will admit to having no clue as to the difference between the two types of scale, except that the Dorian mode was based on the Dorian tetrachord: descending, a series of falling intervals of two whole tones followed by a semitone. Applied to a whole octave, the Dorian mode was built upon two Dorian tetrachords separated by a whole tone (Wikipedia).
Other than that, annoying senior doctors and janatorial staff seems to be about right…

Did someone do Music A-Level? I dropped out of that class and did Spanish instead.
I remembered it as Tone, Semitone, Tone, Tone, Tone, Semitone, Tone, cos I don’t do tetrachords, unless it’s time for a floss.

I hold a guitar upside-down (and had to have it pointed out to me), so Music A-Level? I think not.
Spanish would have been a good option, but wasn’t available at my school until ten years after I finished.
Wouldn’t have helped my singing, though…

Well Jimi Hendrix played guitar with the strings laid in reverse order, play on dude!
