13 Arnie Movies

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

When it comes to Western action movies, there’s only one man for me. Sure, I’ve enjoyed watching Sylvester Stallone, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Steven Seagal, Chuck Norris, The Rock, Vin Diesel, Dolph Lundgren, etc. but Arnold Schwarzenegger is my king of kick-butt.

Here are 13 movies starring the current Governor of California; which are your favourites? Mine are The Terminator Trilogy, Predator, The Running Man and True Lies.

1. Pumping Iron (1977)

This is a documentary, not an action movie, but I wanted to show where it all started.

2. Conan the Barbarian (1982)

3. The Terminator I (1984), II (1991) & III (2003)

4. Commando (1985)

5. Raw Deal (1986)

6. Predator (1987)

7. The Running Man (1987)

Ben Richards: I’ll be back.
Damon Kilian: Only in a rerun.

Damon Kilian: Drop dead.
Ben Richards: I don’t do requests.

Classic.

8. Red Heat (1988)

9. Total Recall (1990)

I loved that fight he had with Sharon Stone.

10. Last Action Hero (1993)

11. True Lies (1994)

Does anyone remember the Jamie Lee Curtis striptease scene?

12. Eraser (1996)

13. End of Days (1999)

Here are some more cool/funny pics of Arnie:

Oooh, I loved True Recall. I think it was because of Jamie Lee Curtis and not so much because of the Arnie, though.

I *love* Predator. Cannot explain it all all, but I will drop everything and watch it when it comes on tv. I will also admit to liking Kindergarten Cop. I know, I know….

Of those I’d have to say True Lies.

Happy Thursday, my list is up, all about http://www.phone-tag.com.

T2 is one of my all-time favorite flicks. Just love it. (and haven’t seen 3 yet because, really, how can it compare?)

Happy TT, darling! You picked a great list this week!

I’ve seen all of these! Love Arnie. Happy TT!

I’ve only seen 7 and 11. Yes, I remember Jaimie L C’c striptease! Best part of the film — she carried off that scene brilliantly.

I’m not into Arnie movies much. California should have taken a lesson from history: electing right-wing Austrians to lead you has a very poor track record!

    My, My what a list.

    Happy TT!

I’ve don’t think I’ve ever seen Raw Deal, but I know that the graphic you have—Red Heat—is probably what the poster/dvd cover should look like!

I’ve liked the Terminator movies, True Lies (mostly for Jamie Lee), and Total Recall. Predator and Conan (both of which I saw when they first came out, on a big screen) were okay I guess.

Techsplorer: I’d linked to the wrong pic for Raw Deal, but I’ve corrected it now. Thanks for pointing out the error.

I like the first two Terminator movies, but thought the third was a piece of crap.

I like Predator, especially the last hour or so or whatever it is when it’s just Arnie and the creature.

Total Recall is fun but is either not as clever as it it thinks it is, or even more so than I think it is.

True Lies is the most Republican movie ever made-secrets, family values and fighin’ terrorism!

Kindergarten Cop is fun too, but Arnie needs to be kept away from romantic scenes of any kind. Or really, anything that requires him to convey emotion-why do you think he’s so good as the Terminator(s)?

It was the perfect role: He got to kill a lot of people and he didn’t have to talk much.

    I have a soft spot for Commando. It’s a not-so-guilty pleasure.

I like all the Terminator movies (particularly the first two) but I think I have seen them enough times that I don’t have any interest in re-seeing them at this point.

I love Raw Deal, mostly because it’s rather bizarre, particularly the sentimental ending.
