Adopt an Actor: Brian Thompson

Splotchy has pioneered a new blogging initiative which involves adopting an actor (preferably a character actor, one of those guys who play minor roles in so many different shows).

I’ve never had a pet, but I guess that this would be rather like looking after a plant or sponsoring a kid in Africa (without the expenditure). What’s that saying: Give a man a fish and he eats for a day; give an actor some promotion on your blog and he eats forever? (Or something like that…) (more…)

A bomb was found in the Haymarket area of central London at about 2am this morning. Fortunately the device was discovered and made safe before anyone could be hurt.

I will never understand how people could decide to commit mass murder in order to achieve an aim or to further a cause, but these terrorists will not stop me from living my life.

Blair’s farewell kiss to the nation.

Blair

Will Gordon Brown replace Blair as Bush’s gimp? Time will tell. Does anyone remember that Blair’s original New Labour anthem was that cheesy dance tune, “Things can only get better”? Unfortunately that sentiment still applies after 10 years of his government. I’m not a political animal so I won’t go into details here. Where’s Dr Monkey when you need him?

13 Cartoon Villians (cue evil cackling)

Storytellers know that every story must have an antagonist. Every hero must face a villain in order to emerge victorious. Here are some of my favourite animated villains. Do you ever find yourself rooting for the villain? Sometimes those heroes are just too nice!

I’m a child of the 80s, so most of these are from that era. Can you add any to the list?

1. Gargarmel from the Smurfs. I used to love the Smurfs, in fact I used to have a special dance that I would do in front of the telly when the show came on. My folks still tease me about it.

2. Mojojojo from the Power Puff Girls. What’s not to love about an evil brainy monkey?

3. Dick Darstardly and his untrusty sidekick Muttley from Wacky Races. “Drat, drat and double drat!”

4. Shendu from the Jackie Chan Adventures. How many times can a demon return from oblivion?

5. Charles Montgomery Burns from the Simpsons.
“Excellent! Release the flying monkeys!”

6. Sideshow Bob from the Simpsons. I loved that Cape Fear episode.

7. The Red Guy from Cow and Chicken. Will he ever cover up that red butt!

8. Baron Silas Greenback from Danger Mouse. The world’s most villainous toad.

9. Dr Claw from Inspector Gadget. “I’ll get you next time Gadget, next time!”

10. Skeletor from the Adventures of He-Man and She-Ra. Ugly skull-face aside, I recently noticed his meaty body…

11. Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. An evil ninja, the best kind.

12. Mom from Futurama. My Idol.
Queen of Robotkind, she was also a sexy mama, back in da day.

13. Cruella DeVil from 101 Dalmations.
Sure, dogs may poop all over the place, but there’s no need to take it out on their skin…
