Pens and stuff

So I saw the Tempest at the theatre on Tuesday evening. Patrick Stewart was great, so expressive that he showed up the actress playing his daughter. She was strangely bland and lacklustre. There were some funny moments, but it dragged a bit after a while.

Yesterday I met up with Ahmed for a chat and a cup of tea. He asked me to write my ideal man wishlist. I told him that I’d already blogged about that, but he wanted to compare notes with me. I discovered that he wanted a man who was “loaded” with nice lips, a nice butt and plenty of ambition. He’s into that cosmic ordering malarkey so he’s going to wish for this man to materialise. We’ll see how that works out for him.

I bought this lush pen yesterday. It’s by Jordi Labanda, is in zebra print and has an Audrey Hepburn-esque logo on the lid.

And look at what the postman brought me today!

I’ll write a full review in a few days.

Why on earth did I buy a 15" tartan skirt?

Hell if I know.

The Coolest Shop in London?

Friday, March 9th, 2007 | Posted in Uncategorized

As I was strolling around during my lunch-hour I found what could be the coolest shop in London. It’s called Radio Days and they sell all sorts of vintage stuff. I had a quick look around and bought myself an old magazine with Elizabeth Taylor on the cover. They had loads of stylish vintage outfits, hats, etc. I always find cool stuff when I don’t have my camera… oh well!

Another update

Houston, we have a problem! On Saturday I bought 14 books at Borders, and this evening I bought 8 more books at Tesco (supermarket). So now I have about 45 books to read. The rest of my year is spoken for… (actually they’ll probably last me a few months)

I went to see a laser beautician in Harley Street to sort out a few of my ugly bits. She was so indiscreet! She was telling me about the clients that were ahead of me, the singer with ingrown hairs and a growth on his ear, the young girl with a full beard, the girl who whips off her knickers to laser off her bikini line into a brazilian landing strip. Her gossiping didn’t inspire my confidence, and I left imagining her talking about me to the next client…

I got fed up of using someone else’s computer login at work, so I called up the computer maintenance company and sorted it out myself. Then my colleague told me that she needed to have my password in case of emergency… one of the reasons I wanted my own login account was in order to have a modicum of privacy there, especially after her repeated invasions of my drawers, etc.

I’m not going back there for a couple of days now, so I can forget about all that crap.

Oh yeah, it looks like I’m going to Jamaica in May!

Keep on keeping on

I had a good couple of days of avoiding the sweet stuff, but it’s all gone wrong today. I knew it was all over when mum brought home the custard creams and rich tea biccies. It’s ok, I’m going to carry on with my healthier lifestyle. Every bit counts/helps.

I must have spent about £200 in the space of 2 hours yesterday, on books, clothes and other random bits. Waterstones were selling loads of books for £2.99, so I ended up with the entire range of Jane Austen novels for some reason (except for Pride & Prejudice, which I’ve already read).

I’ve got about 25 books to read now, so I’m going to be busy for the next 6 months. I’m trying to catch up on cult and classic lit at the moment, I’ve felt that it is a gap in my knowledge that I must fill.

A lot of the time I feel like I’m fighting myself, or struggling against what I “should” want. Sometimes I don’t know what I want. I feel so lost.

I almost succumbed to the lure of match.com! I started signing up, then got bored by all the questions they ask. I’d rather not get into online dating again anyway. I’d rather be single.
